Defense Logistics Information Service Business Continuity...

Introduction to the Department of Defense / Defense Logistics Agency / Defense Logistics Information Service Business Continuity Plan (BCP) The purpose of the DLIS BCP is to provide a Business Continuity Plan based on information previously submitted and authorized in the DLIS Risk Analysis (RA) Risk Mitigation (RM) plan and Business Impact Analysis (BIA). The BCP includes the following information: (Gibson, D.) A. Purpose: The purpose of the BCP is to ensure that mission-critical elements of DLIS continue to operate after an operational service disruption. Disruptions are any event that has the potential to stop operations. BCPs are implemented when service disruptions occur or are imminent. BCPs then stay in stated until normal operations are restored. Only critical operations functions remain running during the service disruption. Disasters take precedence over regular operations. The DLIS BIA identified the CBFs and their priorities in the previous BIA. The BCP is to insure that all of the operational elements are in place to maintain these CBFs. The BIA also includes MOAs. Some operational CBFs may need to be maintained with minimal outages. Other CBFs have lower priorities. Depending on the recovery time objectives identified in the BIA, these lower priority CBFs may be down for hours or even days. B.
